Sources of funding for innovative companies

Last week I was asked to give a presentation on sources of funding for innovative companies, at an event organized by WIPO and the Science and Technology Minister of Argentina.
You can take a look and/or download the presentation below. I focused on Venture Capital, of course, and knowing my audience was mainly academic researchers, I focused on trying to convey the expectations of institutional and/or profesional investors when looking for investment opportunities. However, I think that the presentation can be useful to a broader audience, as sometimes reviewing the basics provides new insights (at least, that's always the case for me, and that is why I enjoy preparing and delivering these presentations so much).

It's in spanish, but it doesn't have that many words... :P

Hybrid Model

We've been working at it for years, advocating it as the right way for Latin American tech companies to go global. Now it has a name: hybrid model.

Core Security story told in 2005

Popego Concept launch

Today, Popego launched its Concept version (or, as they say, their "very alpha"). Congratulations to the team (Santi, Cono, Fer, Manuel, Victor, Santi and Mike) for a job well done! The presentation was engaging, the demo was flawless, and the small f&f crowd was really excited about the potential.
As we all are!
You can check our concept popegos on the right, and sign up for the alpha. Coming up really really soon.

cheers,

credibility and the internet, on Seph's words

During their winter break two brillant soon-to-graduate MIT Sloan students, Seph Skerrit and John Clingan, spent three weeks working at popego. Their work was focused on popego's value proposition and distribution strategy (on which they did a great job), but they got enough free time to enjoy the great night-life in Buenos Aires, do some trekking on Patagonia and dive on some deep thoughts. Speaking of which, here is a great post by Seph on Credibility on the Internet -an issue very close to Popego's core.

"Blog, Blog, Blog it all...
